Friendly staff, delicious food, and a modern interior are a few of the perks that come with booking an event at the classy Hill Seafood and Chop House in Grosse Pointe Farms.

“It’s important for the community to have somewhere nice where people like to hang out. People love to come into the bar here, it’s just a welcoming place,” said General Manager Dianna Bennett.

The staff is more like family and the guests are friends, Bennett said, adding that “everybody feels like they’re at home here.”

On more than one occasion, the Hill team has gone above and beyond to make clients’ dreams come true.

“We’ll always make it work… It’s their important day, so we make sure everything they want is what they get and it’s not work for them to get it done. They walk in and it’s handled,” Bennet said.

The staff shares Bennet’s enthusiasm and welcomes every new challenge that comes their way with energy and positivity.

Rosanne Vandirn, who handles the Hill’s off site catering, said, “It’s fun to help somebody put their things together… This is a very historical area too, it’s very old style classy. People from this area remember things from their grandparents and they all have hand-downs of their silver and antiques that we incorporate into their parties.”

Chef Jeff Kay agreed, “(Special Events) are actually a breath of fresh air, because it gets you away from doing the normal. It’s kind of refreshing and fun.”

From catering to an on-site chef or a wedding at the Hill, Bennet said, “We can accommodate your budget.

“We have a really strong staff and a lot of experience...  between the three (chefs,) they have 100 years experience. We do any type of food they want… If you want to spend more, we can spend more. If not, we can keep it reasonable,” as low as $20 to $25 a plate, she said.

The restaurant’s layout also provides ample room to entertain.

“We have a bunch of unique vignettes, where people could move through and they don’t feel like they’re sitting in a hall…the bar, the dinning room, the private banquet room,” and champagne on the patio, Bennet said, adding that if an event needs live music, her team can assist with that, too.

“We have entertainment on Wednesdays and Fridays already, so I have a bunch of people I can contact for different types of entertainment and they’re all very reasonable,” she said.
